Carne Mountain Sister Hike

It was our annual sister bonding trip, and Jill convinced us to climb carne mountain. It was no small feat---4000 ft in 4 miles (8 miles round trip) and the summit of a 7085ft mountain as a midway reward. On our way back down we also got to see a black bear yearling (my first Washington bear sighting!). Unfortunately we scared the crap out of it and it was running as fast as its little legs could carry it AWAY from us. Which, actually given its proximity is perhaps the best way to see a bear. Still we were sorry we'd startled it so.

You can find the hike stats here...

We stopped in this valley for lunch #1

And not long after had this view of it from above

We made it to the saddle!
